Project Brief:

SX5 Group is a Pilbara based Aboriginal business that is made up of three divisions – SX5 Road & Rail, SX5 Portaccomm and SX5 Portacrete. They pride themselves as a leading Aboriginal contracting company in the Pilbara, with a focus on mine rehabilitation and shutdowns, building and rail construction and the manufacturing and installation of portable mining buildings.


The proposed development at the subject site will allow SX5 to produce steel products and transportables associated with their Portaccomm division. 


In order to facilitate this, there will be a relocation of two existing facilities and an office in the greater Perth area as well as a training facility currently located in Karratha. 


SX5 contracted Harley Dykstra for their surveying needs, and when the initial surveying work was completed, the project was handed to one of our Planning Consultants to progress a Development Application. We have also been liaising with the Project Engineer to ensure all design conditions have been met throughout the process. There are also plans for a 100m long mural by an Indigenous artist to span the wall fronting Armadale Road.

  • Initial Survey completed (2023)

  • Development Application approved (2024) 

  • Assisting with Project Management (ongoing) 

  • Involved in further surveying work for building setout (ongoing)
