At Harley Dykstra, we offer advanced Mobile Mapping and Reality Capture services to accurately document the as-built status of buildings and assets.
Using our wearable mobile mapping device, equipped with LiDAR technology, we are able to capture the 3D structure of a space. This data is combined with high-resolution imagery, providing a comprehensive 360-degree representation of the environment.
Efficiency and Data Quality
Our wearable scanner offers a significant increase in efficiency compared to traditional methods, capturing data up to ten times faster. This speed does not compromise data quality; in most cases, the precision of the data and the clarity of the imagery surpass traditional methods. The collected data can be fully interacted with and measured using specialised software, enabling a more detailed analysis.
Data Accessibility
Once captured, the data is hosted online, providing our clients with the flexibility to access it remotely at any time. A secure link allows clients to explore and interact with the 3D models directly. In addition to the visual data, we can produce detailed outputs such as:
Floor plans
Elevations
Height extractions
Curb lines, window heights, roof pitches, and other dimensional data
These deliverables provide clients with a range of options for integrating the captured data into their projects.
Autonomous Scanning Capabilities
The mobile mapping device is equipped with advanced positional technology, allowing it to self-calibrate relative to the environment without the need for external targets. This autonomous capability not only increases efficiency but also simplifies the scanning process, requiring only the operator and the device. The system allows for pausing and resuming scans if interruptions occur and provides real-time feedback via a touch screen, ensuring complete coverage of the scanned area. Any missed sections can be quickly revisited and captured as needed.
Applications
We have applied our mobile mapping technology in several contexts, including:
Capturing interior spaces for lease plans in retail settings
Documenting historical buildings undergoing renovation where no existing architectural records were available
Mapping street environments to provide contextual data for new developments
These examples demonstrate the versatility of our reality capture services, which can be adapted to various project requirements.
